Knowledge Sharing and Technology Transfer
Knowledge sharing - among existing and emerging networks of stakeholders involved in water and climate, from local to national and inter-regional levels, from public, private and research stakeholders - remains crucial to ensure that research and innovation make it to market.
AfriAlliance will set up a series of events, including two major AfriAlliance Conferences and annual AfriAlliance Innovation Bridge events to match universities, research organisations and science councils, and industrial companies exhibiting innovations in water and Climate Change with potential collaborators, funders and investors to facilitate commercialisation of these technologies. And a series of AfriAlliance brokerage events (mirroring the brokerage events of the EU's Enterprise Europe Network which help SMEs to find technology and market opportunities) which will provide for more localised networking and technology transfer opportunities in various African countries. They will be structured as ‘roadshows’, i.e. sequential events with a core group of SMEs and entrepreneurs participating in all brokerage events that are conducted in each roadshow.
AfriAlliance will also facilitate online knowledge sharing via an innovative online platform to facilitate exchanges between relevant actors and networks in Africa and between Europe and Africa.
