This first AfriAlliance Policy Brief entitled ‘Strengthening the capacity of African stakeholders to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 amidst Climate Change’ builds on the results of the AfriAlliance Demand-driven Research and Innovation Outlook.
Intended as a guide for decision makers in the areas of water and climate, this policy brief is a call for action. It argues that all stakeholders have a role in achieving water security and protecting water-related ecosystems in times of Climate Change and that they need to collaborate to strengthen local and national capacity in African countries for managing water resources within the constraints imposed by Climate Change. These efforts effectively cut across SDG6 (water and sanitation for all), SDG 13 (Climate Change) and SDG 17 (partnerships).
This is the first AfriAlliance Policy Brief in a series of five. Keep an eye on the website for the next policy brief, to be finalised at the end of October 2018.
