Webinar - Climate Expert: Helping SMEs develop strong climate adaptation strategies

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of emerging economies, accounting for up to 45% of employment and 33% of GDP. They are also particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, with rippling impacts along international supply chains.

Climate Expert offers a practical 4-step approach to help SMEs to anticipate climate risks and design strong adaptation strategies for their local context. It also provides a set of supporting materials, including company assessment templates, online courses, case studies, and direct access to experts with experience using the tool.

On 4 September (3:00 PM CET), the GGKP and the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) are holding a webinar to explore how SMEs can utilise Climate Expert, as well as development agencies, consultants, and multipliers that want to support the private sector in adapting to climate change.

This is the first official webinar of the Green Industry Platform, which equips businesses of all sizes with quick and easy access to sector and region-specific information on how to become more competitive by greening their input materials, operations, and end products.

Climate Expert was developed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
