Crisis Response Register created in response to Beirut crisis

On 4th August 2020 a horrific explosion rocked the city of Beirut. Over 200 people died and hundreds of thousands within the city were made homeless. This event has led to a humanitarian crisis, cutting across a range of sectors, including water and sanitation.

In the days and weeks following the tragedy, water professionals from across the world have come together to give their expertise and support to those in need in Beirut. Following the explosion, the Crisis Response Register was created. This register lists water and sanitation professionals who can be contacted by aid and disaster relief agencies when crises occur. By offering their support in times of disaster, professionals on the Crisis Response Register provide essential, life-saving support to millions across the world.
