On a mission to solving water problems: AfriAlliance and WaterWindow sign MoU
13 March 2018
On 12 March 2018, AfriAlliance and WaterWindow signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU focuses on exchanging knowledge on matching the water-related needs of the African water sector with solutions. AfriAlliance and Waterwindow are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation!
In the face of Climate Change, Africa is one of the regions most in need of innovative solutions for water problems. However, available solutions are often not widely known and matched with the concrete needs of different stakeholders in the water sector.
Both AfriAlliance and WaterWindow consider it their mission to solve water problems by identifying water-related needs, finding matching solutions and making the results available online as one effective means to close the gap. One ambition of the cooperation between AfriAlliance and WaterWindow is therefore to jointly generate an online ‘ClimateWindow for Africa’ that serves to present identified needs with matching solutions.
The signing ceremony took place at IHE Delft and involved Dr. Uta Wehn, Project Director of AfriAlliance, and Mr. Joost de Haan, Project Director of WaterWindow. They both emphasized the importance of the cooperation between the two initiatives to better prepare African stakeholders for climate change challenges.
