SDG Acceleration Actions
In the lead up to the SDG Summit, UN DESA set up an online platform titled, SDG Acceleration Actions, to capture and collect new commitments or initiatives that are undertaken by Member States and other stakeholders to speed up SDG implementation.
These SDG Acceleration Actions can be either new initiatives or ones that build on, or scale up, existing efforts to implement the SDGs. They can address either one or multiple SDGs.
As of today, there are over 150 SDG Accelerations Actions registered and shared by Member States and other stakeholders online through the Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform website at sustainabledevelopment.un.org.
As part of the Decade of Action, all Member States and other actors are invited to continue to submit and share their SDG Acceleration Actions online, including those that build resilience and promote inclusive recovery in the COVID-19 context. These SDG Acceleration Actions will be highlighted and promoted by the UN throughout the HLPF, including as part of the virtual media zone and through a dedicated event. The registration is open year-round and accessible from here.
