AfriAlliance Roadshow Event at the International Symposium on Science and Technology
AfriAlliance seeks to foster the uptake of innovative solutions in the areas of water innovation, research, policy and capacity development in order to enhance the preparedness of Africa for future Climate Change challenges.
One of the ways in which AfriAlliance tries to achieve this are the AfriAlliance Brokerage Roadshow events. These events are localised networking opportunities in various African countries and are especially set up to help SMEs find technology development opportunities: i.e. potential collaborators and market opportunities: i.e. customers for their solutions. Innovators have the opportunity to meet potential customers, collaborators and investors to discuss Africa’s water and climate vulnerabilities and ways to solve them. They can interact and share ideas with like-minded African and European innovators and change agents who are driving a new era of change in Africa and Europe. These events include demonstrations of various solutions from a wide range of organisations working in the water sector, from African and European countries.
International Symposium on Science and Technology (SIST)
The third edition of SIST will be held from 14 to 18 October 2019 in Ouaga 2000 International Conference Centre around two major themes that are challenges of the hour for the development of African countries, namely:
- Management, valorisation of natural resources and sustainable development: exchange and share results acquired on the sustainable exploitation of natural resources in the perspective of sustainable economic and social development;
- International Migration: make the results of research on migration problems widely known.
The Roadshow will be an excellent opportunity for the actors to expose, discuss and disseminate the results with a wide range of participants. It is aimed at innovators in the field of water and climate, academics and researchers, students, policymakers and investors in Africa. The theme chosen for this Roadshow, "climate change and valorization of endogenous innovations in water control", aims to:
provide a platform for high-level scientific and policy dialogue on the impacts of climate change;
identify and share existing and emerging innovative technologies and practices in water management;
provide participants with a platform to strengthen cooperation and strengthen networks between academia and research, SMEs, NGOs and the public sector, policymakers and local communities.
