Call for Papers: Special Issue on Water Innovation in Africa
Journal of Environmental Science and Policy launches Call for Papers on Water Innovation in Africa
How can water-related challenges in distinct African contexts be addressed by innovation and how can an enabling environment for water innovation be fostered through appropriate innovation policies and effective water innovation systems?
To provide science and practice-based answers, the Journal of Environment Science & Policy has issued a Call for Papers for a Special Issue on Water Innovation in Africa, which is guest edited by AfriAlliance partners IHE Delft and Waternet.
This special issue will be a vehicle for discussion on water innovation dynamics in Africa on the road to the World Water Forum 9 in Senegal, with outreach opportunities along the way during the 6th Delft Symposium on Water Sector Capacity Development (to be held at IHE Delft in May 2020) and the final AfriAlliance conference (to be held in late 2020 or early 2021).
The guest editors invite scientific contributions for potential publication in this Special Issue that apply relevant concepts, frameworks and methods from innovation studies to further our understanding of water innovation dynamics in different African contexts. These may be full research papers, drawing on empirical evidence, or shorter ‘messages from the field’ (e.g. from describing relevant project aims, outcomes and impacts).
The full Call for Papers, detailing potential topics and applicable deadlines, can be found here.
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 1 July 2019
